Native to South America. Grown in bulbs. Beautiful flowers to be grown in rock gardens. It tolerates full sun to partial shade. Sudden watering after a drought period induce flowering. This plant comes in pink colour as well. Flowers bloom regardless daylight or at night ( although petal slightly closes during night time). Flowers do not bloom throughout – petal wither and fall after three days of bloom. Plant has needle-like, glossy leaves. Easily grown and manage. Definitely can be grown in Brunei.
