April 2008

Lunch time today, I had a short psycology lesson with… the mums.

There are many types of people you will meet Lin Ji, some are like ginger some are onions. You have to be smart. You must cover all obvious… ” -pause- “just pretend the people are all daft” -pause- Okay, so they didn’t quite exactly say this word for word but the point is there. “Rule Number One is not to trust people so easily. And Rule Number Two is back up everything you do with black and white – with proof“, another added.

And it so happened hours after lunch, a lady came in and told me that her child had lost her class photo. Child’s mom wanted to know whether we could retrieve it. As soon as I said no, she shot me with…

Her:  ”I thought all photos should have names printed on the cover so whoever finds one lying around can return it”

My Thought: What makes you think people will return?

My actual reply: All pictures have been distributed by the teachers and all teachers are required to sign a sheet to confirm they have taken it. Your child is in the upper primary group hence she has signed on the sheet too. *her child nodded in agreement*

Her: * a long ooohhhhhh*

My Pose: *keep smiling…keep smiling…keep smiling* and *keep smiling*

Her: Okay then… so if the photo could not be found, I still can order it, yes?

Ms. Cashier and I: Yes…

It was a hard long annoying job to go ALL around the class to have the teachers sign the sheet and wait for the children to sign the sheets. But I guess it’s necessary. If I hadn’t thought of making the children signed the sheet in the first place, I might not be able to smile at her. haha. Tsk~

Mind you though, this is just ONE of the many parents that came and asked what happened to their children’s class photo (why the little brother has it and the older one hasn’t..bla bla).

Not blaming the parents doing their thing. They should come up I guess and inquire since they pay for it. I, on the other hand did my best and only hope the parents could just be a little more understanding.

As a child there were them times
I didn’t get it
But you kept me in line
I didn’t know why

You didn’t show up sometimes
On Sunday mornings and I missed you
But I’m glad we talked through

All them grown folk things
Separation brings
You never let me know it
You never let it show
Because you loved me and obviously
There’s so much more left to say
If you were with me today
Face to face

I never knew I could hurt like this
And everyday life goes on I wish
I could talk to you for a while
Miss you but I try not to cry
As time goes by

And it’s true that you’ve
Reached a better place
Still I’d give the world to see your face
And be right here next to you
But it’s like you’re gone too soon
Now the hardest thing to do is say

Bye bye
Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye
Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye

You never got a chance to see
How good I’ve done
And you never got to
See me back at number one
I wish that you were here
To celebrate together

I wish that we could
Spend the holidays together

I remember when you used to
Tuck me in at night

With the teddy bear you gave me
That I held so tight
I thought you were so strong
You’d make it through whatever
It’s so hard to accept the fact
You’re gone forever

R.I.P. Grandpa~*

It is indeed a BABY GIRL!!!!

Arrived at exactly 3pm yesterday at UBD.

Okay Lin Ji. Calm down. It’s just an interview. That’s it. Just an interview. *rolled eyes and sighs*

But First. I have to find this place: Conference 2.77CB Well, at least that is what the person who called me said. So, with my high-heeled shoes (since I have to wear smart and I have no proper shoes, sad to say) I walked from one point to the other for a good awful 45mins just to realise the guy who called meant Conference 2.77SHIBIE!!!! *frowns*

Alright so I reached there with a relief LOUD sigh – loud enough to allow all the other applicants to hear – and I let out another sigh because I HAVE TO GO BACK DOWN TO THE CARPARK TO GET MY ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES! Aiyo. Seriously lah. My car is parked quite close to the admin area where I had thought I would need to hop back in and drive to some other faculty where I assumed the meeting will be. But least it was so, I had to walk from building to building just to find the room and *curses* there is not one single GOOD CAMPUS MAP to guide us. *sighs deeply*

Not long after I sat down to wait for my turn, my name was called. My interview lasted less than fifteen minutes.

The result: – Feet have blisters all over. Interview went smoothly. Feet have blisters all over. FEET HAVE BLISTERS ALL OVER! >=(

I was running like a headless chicken today. and Yesterday. and the day before. haha. Children Sports Day!! I was assigned to be the photographer for the three event days and I have taken a couple of good shots. The field was wet since it has been raining heavily past few nights. So, you could just imagine the children running around the wet field, splashing whoever were near them (p.s. clearly I was one of “them”). Neverthless, it was fun fun. I had a great time taking photos and better, enjoying seeing the kids playing the games. There was so much laughter! Made me want to participate. haha. I do really miss all the sport events I used to participate before. Fel, Lyn, Fij, Remember the time WE RAN THE RELAYS AND THE SINGLE 200m RUN!! It was blast innit? XD haha. Ask me to run now and I might just end up last.

They were simply kids.

Kids splashing the year 6 with paints.

She was going for the GOLD.

PULL I SAY!! PULL GODAMNIT! >=D

Oh Nooooo… >.> <.<

Haha, those are some pictures. Lazy to upload more.

So who knows what M.I.B is? Do you?

I was asked by my teacher the other day. Well, more like he asked us, all who attended his class the other day.

Simple cikgu, Melayu Islam Beraja lah~

So, what about Melayu Islam Beraja?… Here is when you see us all looking at one another trying to answer cikgu with the best possible explanation or description. Apparently, no one could answer. So it got me thinking, have we all only known M.I.B as Melayu Islam Beraja and not understand what those three words really mean?

Melayu: The majority amongst us.

Islam: Agama rasmi Negara Brunei Darussalam

Beraja: Has a King – constitutional monarchy.

Are the above description that pop into your head?

hm.

There’s so much more to what those three words mean. So much.

As promised!

I went to the salon not very very long ago and had my hair cut. I couldn’t stand the weather and truth be told, I wanted a new look. So! I thought I’ll have it REAL short this time. Aaaannddd… this is how I look:

Haircut- April 2008.

So, what do you think? haha. I was actually praying and staring at the magazine the whole time Virginia cut my hair. She did it real well though, I must say. I don’t regret cutting my hair but it did hurt to see my hair which took years to grow was on the floor…. *sighs* Ah well~*

It’ll grow again. =D

And for the record, I don’t quite like the place I am working now. haha. It’s true!

Boring as hell.

I wouldn’t feed you on the details because there isn’t any.

I have a class again tonight.

Hopefully, not as boring.
